QUALITY
My creations are an art form and created with incomparable concepts. When you purchase an item from me you will get the highest quality hand crafted creations on the market. For several years now I have explored competition and considered what makes their products good quality. With helpful hints & my unique twist on things, I design each piece with longevity and functionality in mind. Over the years I have had several trial and error experiences in the creation process. My items used to sell for half the price during this trial period. Through advancements in strategic thinking and analyzing competition, I have successfully been able to provide you with amazing quality products at a price that equals the value.
I have found ways to hide nails and glue while still keeping the small product details well in tact. Over time, I have learned to sand down the moss used as to prevent shedding when dusting the products. Let's get into the details of what's used!
GLUES/ VARNISH/ HARDWARE
As a home based business I work in the presence of a child and a dog. Because of this, and my allergies, my cleaning process is very thorough. I also use Ecos Woodshield Varnish to coat my products with because it's not only great quality but also non-toxic and unscented. I've noticed a lot of heavy odors on competitor products. Sure the varnish cost 3x more than the poly alternative, but to me, it's more than worth the investment. To elaborate on the cleaning process I will begin with the bark. I don't want bugs in my home just as much as you don't want them in yours. This is why I thoroughly clean everything before it enters my home, where I have an art room. For example, the bark is scraped off and flattened outside. Once it's flat I scrub it with vinegar or let some pieces like nuts soak in thieves essential oil killing of bugs, mildew or anything else unwelcomed. I then bring the pieces inside where they are ready for applying! Sticks, and other smaller bits of nature, have a different process. For these I have a variety of cleaning processes depending on what I am working on. At this moment I have a small kiln for Logs and sticks. Large sticks are cut in the winter; this is ideal for the bark to stay firm and not bubble up and seperate from the inside of the tree. A lot of glue is used in the placement of bark and intricate detailing. I use all gorilla glue products (hey, if treehouse masters uses it we know it's quality). Bark is applied using wood glue and hot glue therefore enforcing a quick and long term adhesive. You will not see nails in my work; they are hidden beneath one of my unique features (moss). For some, this is is much appreciated as I have heard positive feedback from many who do not enjoy seeing hardware poke out of sticks. Have questions? I am happy to answer.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL
I've always had a keen eye for balance, art, imagination and placement. My writing skills may not be the best but I sure can design decor from scratch with no planning ahead. I can write a mean poem too haha. This is exactly why I call my work art because it is an expression of creation and self. Of course most rustic makers love seeing others ideas and talk amongst each other on concepts used... but there's a reason I won't go on pinterest for ideas nor will I post on there. It's the DIY platform and I love pinterest, just not for my work. My in depth creative skill comes from within my own imagination and appeals to those who truly want a unique piece. The intricate details, the eye catching symmetry, the scattered unity...it's a skill of precision.
INNOVATIVE IDEAS
Over the years I have taken so much great advice from customers, adirondack stores, and family as well! I believe humility and adapting to customer needs is necessary to create products that are above and beyond. In the beginning I used regular coat hooks which I had typically bought in bulk. Until the day a child's heavy backpack was placed on the hook and it bent. I understand most of these coat racks are in vacation homes which arnt withstanding the weight of a childs book bag...but that won't stop me from improving. Now I use only cast iron with additional hardware to withstand weight and daily use. A wonderful thing about working with nature is the endless items to incorporate. I added driftwood this past year and it was a hit. Adding Herkimer diamonds, wood cookies, and incorporating moss has been of true value as well. Meanwhile I still make some items with a pinecone variety concept to keep a diversity in my products. Your welcome you pinecone lovers.
What would you like to see incorporated in this years creations?
What are some of your favorite features of my products?
